17th May 2024: Newgen Software unveiled a pioneering initiative to accelerate women’s skill development and digital prowess in underserved communities.
The inauguration of a dedicated skill development center marks a monumental milestone in Newgen’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering inclusive growth. The center, located in Okhla, will serve as a hub for imparting skill training and essential digital education to the mothers of the students associated with the company’s flagship social impact project, Newgen Digital Discovery Paathshala (NDDP).
Under the umbrella of the NDDP Samarth Saarthi Samuh program, this initiative seeks to transform the lives of women from the Harkesh Nagar and Tekhand localities in Okhla, Delhi. By providing comprehensive digital education and vocational training and promoting holistic well-being, Newgen aims to empower these zealous women with the tools and skills necessary to become self-reliant and thrive in today’s digital age.
Expressing her enthusiasm at the project launch, Priyadarshini Nigam, Head of CSR at Newgen Software, stated, “This innovative endeavor is a testament to our commitment to building and empowering less privileged girls and women with essential skills and knowledge. We wanted to go a step beyond empowering girls in government schools through our NDDP program and transform their communities.”
During regular interactions with Newgen’s CSR volunteers at the digital summer camps and weekly online sessions, the mothers of the NDDP students expressed the desire to learn and grow as individuals. Armed with invaluable insights into their lives and communities, Newgen embarked on a journey to uplift these communities and bridge the digital divide through education and skill development.
In collaboration with well-known NGOs, such as Each One Feed One and I AM Wellbeing, Newgen aims to create a holistic ecosystem that fosters skill development and promotes holistic well-being.
Through this multi-faceted approach, Newgen is poised to make a tangible difference in countless women’s and their families’ lives.
